Question

How can I display Audit Services in Rational Team Concert (RTC) 6.0.3?

Cause

JazzAdmin cannot see what the users are doing.

Answer

You can follow the steps below to add Audit Services in Rational Team Concert 6.0.3.

The main requirements are:

· All functions reserved for JazzAdmins users must be logged.

· The resulting audit files must not be modifiable through the user interface.


How to enable the option:

1) Go to JazzTeamServer, then \server\conf\jts
2) Edit the file log4j.properties
3) Change the attributes as described below. (Note in this case we are using C:\Program Files\IBM\JazzTeamServer_v601\server\audit, however this must be adapted to your path installation).



4) Run the server.startup.bat as describe below



5) Login to the page
6) Go to https://<hostname>:<port>/jts/admin
7) Go to Server -> Advanced properties


8) In the service com.ibm.team.repository.service.audit.AuditService, add the character * in the Current value and click and SAVE


9) Go to CCM and create a Workitem
10) Go to https://<hostname>:<port>/ccm/audit
11) You should see a page like this


12) Click on Files, as image below


13) You should see an image below


14) Click on view


15) Then you should see this image below



Note that you can see the timestamp, the action, the user, ip address and description.
